CAT Question Answers: Sentence Completion Questions

Sentence Completion questions are commonly found in tests like CAT, and GRE.
In a typical Sentence Completion question, the test taker is supposed to fill in the blank/blanks with either a single word or a phrase in each blank.

The Sentence Completion question tests the speaker on:
1. Grammar: Sentence Structure, Tenses, Nouns, Verbs, Adjective, Adverbs and more
2. Vocabulary

The first blank is to be filled with a word that is synonymous with the word "chance" given in the second half of the sentence.
There are two options meeting this criteria. Option (a) and some students might consider (d) as well.
But, "Omen" is a general sign of sthg related to the future. It might be good or bad.
Hence, the correct option is (a)
